Cultural Heritage Postcards
This project focuses on the design of a postcard series created as a complementary element to my bachelor’s thesis, Designing an interactive exhibit about the cultural heritage of the Vlachs of Veria. While the exhibit introduced the stories and history in an interactive way, the postcards were created to let that experience live on after visitors left the space.

Choosing Postcards
as a Medium
The postcards were intentionally simple, just paper, no interaction, no technology. That simplicity was important. Postcards are familiar objects connected to memory, travel, and storytelling. By designing them as companions to the exhibit, they became a way for visitors to carry parts of the narrative with them and reflect on it in their own time.
Research and Design
My research focused on postcards from 1900–1930, examining their visual language, composition, typography, and overall feel. These references shaped the design of the postcards, aiming for a nostalgic tone that felt honest rather than decorative. The content and visuals were closely tied to the themes of the interactive exhibit so the postcards felt like a natural continuation of the experience.
Impact
The postcard series complemented the interactive exhibit by extending its impact beyond the physical space. Visitors could revisit the cultural narratives of the Vlachs of Veria after leaving the exhibit, transforming the postcards into personal reminders rather than passive souvenirs.
